With the cooperation of the OSMANE MOUNIF AIDI Foundation FOR CULTURE, COMMUNICATION AND DEVELOPMENT the above two documentary films were produced in 2004. The first one describes a journey to the Near-East, Asia and Europe, on the traces of a beautiful and ancient complicity between the pigeon and man, the pigeon being an intermediary, a messenger between places and men. The Mameluks on the 13th century have well confirmed the role of the pigeon, using it as a communication mean between Lybia and Turkey via Egypt and Syria. |

At the early age of Christianism, the Holy Spirit was visualized by the dove, and it was believed that the soul of the dead rised to the sky in the form of a dove, symbol of purity and innocence.
During the Prussian siege of Paris, pigeons provided informations on the Prussian army, and after the said siege, all European armies equipped themselves with a pigeon service. The first aircraft of the 1914 war, the Trauben, had a pigeon like tail, and pigeon has acted as an intelligence agent in both 1914 and 1939 wars.
The second documentary film describes how pigeon fanciers and scientists use their passion and science to reveal the mystery of the pigeon racings.
