  Throne hall in Aleppo citadel

Photo Gallery

It is one of the most important parts of Aleppo citadel, built by Seif Al-Dawla Al-Hamadani. Time, nature and man had their marks on the beauty of the hall, which necessitated its renovation in order to protect this precious legacy.

Osmane Mounif AIDI Foundation for Heritage, Culture and Sciences undertook to offer as a present to the citadel the ceiling of the throne hall, whose paneling was removed and transferred from the reception hall of Dr. Mounif AIDIs house in Damascus, which was in the nineteenth century the official Al-Azem Palace, the current Al-Azem Palace, having been a residence for women.

In addition to that, the Foundation made renovation and repair works on this hall using Arabic art decorations on wood, glass, and marble, which returned to the hall its magnificence and beauty, preserving its old artistic style.
