Zenobia hotel was built in 1924 following the design of the Spanish architect Fernando de Aranda, a building among others which contributed to the development of the architectural art and the urbanism in Damascus in the first half of the twentieth century, wherein several edifices, a.o the Hedjaz Railways station for the trains linking Damascus to Medina in Saudi Arabia, the Abed building with its Germanic style, the original building of the Damascus University etc... |

The Zenobia hotel is situated on a privileged location within the archaeological sites. A romantic lady of the French nobility took its management during the thirties of the last century. Among its clients were King Alfonso III and Agatha Christie.
The Osmane Mounif AIDI Foundation for Culture, Communication and Development has restored in 2007 the Zenobia Hotel and made it a touristic haven for the visitors of Palmyra, this centuries-old city so rich in its archaeological antiquities and the culture of its kingdom.
